Soundtrack From The Movie Hair DVD 2001 Milos Forman's 1979 film of the 1968 musical Hair is far more watchable than it has any right to be. Controversial though the original stage version might have been at the time, it has not dated well. It was written back when most people thought the Vietnam War was a good idea and long hair on men a signifier of a hopelessly corrupt society, rather than the other way around. By the time the belated movie adaptation arrived attitudes had changed, and what made Hair so unique had become commonplace. However, the exuberance of the performances (led by Treat Williams) and the enduring appeal of some of the songs makes this movie version of Hair, even today, entirely impossible to dislike.

Sparks Sparks Live In London DVD 2003 Filmed at their Shepherd's Bush Empire gig on their 2000 'Balls' tour, this is a glimpse of the true magic of the Mael brothers (plus drummer Tammy Glover, who is also Russell's partner).
Not only have they written some incredible songs over the last thirty-odd years but they've a refreshingly intelligent and slightly theatrical attitude which works a treat in this bland era of manufactured boy/girl bands and identikit 'indie' outfits.

Don't be put off by the static nature of most of the audience here: I was there and plenty were having it large, especially during their quintessential breakthrough hit 'This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us'. Russell is a real live wire, all over the stage and his vast vocal range has never been in better form. Man, those high notes!

All the Sparks classics are here from all eras: 'Amateur Hour', 'The Number One Song In Heaven', 'Beat The Clock', 'When Do I Get To Sing 'My Way''?. Other highlights include Ron levitating his 'illegitimate baby son' Leroy and his manic dancing.
